Tall Japanese Metal Tea Caddy with Rising Sun and Seigaiha Waves

The delicate arches beneath the large red sun form the traditional seigaiha pattern, literally ‘waves of the blue sea’. In Japan, the endlessly repeating waves are associated with lasting prosperity and continuity. Here, they appear beneath a bold red rising sun on a cream background, surrounded by blue and beige hills, plum blossom and a geometric diamond pattern that continues onto the lid. The tall caddy holds up to 200 g of loose tea and features both an inner and outer metal lid to help protect the contents from air and light.
