The mountain on the front of this tea caddy is decorated with the geometric asanoha pattern, inspired by the hemp leaf. As hemp grows quickly and strongly, the motif has long been associated with growth in Japan and was traditionally used on children’s clothing. On the reverse, a large golden moon rises against a midnight-blue sky, accompanied by red plum blossom and white woven-style motifs on the lid. The tall, slender caddy holds up to 200 g of loose tea and closes with a double metal lid.
