During the Edo period, the master printmaker Utagawa Kuniyoshi lived surrounded by cats and even devoted an entire series to goldfish. This Japanese furoshiki brings these two much-loved symbols of the Japanese summer together.
Made from shantung cotton, a fabric that retains its shape well once tied. It makes the perfect wrapping for a pack of cards, a small potted plant or some treats for a friend’s cat. Folded into a pouch, it’s also handy for carrying your keys, wallet and sunglasses when you’re out and about.
