The chrysanthemum (kiku) is a deeply symbolic flower in Japan, with its own festival, Chōyō no Sekku, held on 9 September and rooted in the days when the flower was grown for medicine. This women's yukata is covered in a whole bouquet of them, running the length of its elegant 100% cotton fabric that falls to the ankle. The wide sleeves are cut into square panels, and the blooms overlap so they cover the pattern completely. Its restrained palette of greys makes for an understated, elegant piece, equally at home hosting guests or thrown open over a plain outfit.
The model is 163cm and wears a size S (56").
Note: The sash is looped through the kimono's tab.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
To look after your garment, wash it separately the first time at 40°C. Air-drying is best — avoid the tumble dryer. Don't use bleach, to keep the colours intact. Ironing on a medium heat is recommended. The fabric is designed to resist shrinkage, so your piece will last.
