The deep fuchsia of these traditional samue pyjamas is reminiscent of ‘botan-iro’, the pink-violet shade that the Japanese have historically named after the peony flower and which is equivalent to our Western magenta. The cut of the pyjamas remains faithful to the original samue – the workwear of Zen monks – featuring a wrap-style jacket fastened with ties, elasticated cuffs and drawstring ankles. Add the patch pockets on the trousers and the jacket, and you have a comfortable and practical ensemble in which you can cook, garden and relax whilst looking smart, without really feeling as though you’re in your pyjamas.
The model is 163 cm tall and is wearing a size L.

To look after your garment, wash it separately on its first wash at 40°. Air-dry where possible and avoid using a tumble dryer. Do not use bleach to preserve the colours. Ironing at a medium heat is recommended. The fabric is designed to resist shrinkage, ensuring your garment will last a long time.
