The large character "大" traced in white on this kimono refers to the Daimonji, the fire lit every 16 August above Kyoto to guide the spirits of ancestors home at the end of the Obon festival. Around it, this women's Japanese kimono unfolds a traditional Kyoto scene, with arched red bridges, pine trees and the gosho-guruma ox-carts once used by nobles of the Heian era. Falling to the ankle with wide sleeves, it suits both traditionally-styled gatherings and a relaxed evening at home, and it's the kind of striking piece people will ask you to explain.
Fits women between 155 and 175cm. The model is 163cm.
Note: The sash is looped through the kimono's tab.

To look after your garment, wash it separately the first time at 40°C. Air-drying is best — avoid the tumble dryer. Don't use bleach, to keep the colours intact. Do not iron.
