These pyjamas are inspired by the jinbei, the two-piece outfit that the Japanese wear at home as soon as summer arrives, and feature the same textured weave that allows the skin to breathe. Strictly speaking, they aren’t a traditional jinbei, as they do away with the crossed panels and ties of the traditional design in favour of a round neckline fastened with two wooden buttons – simply more convenient for Westerners to slip on. The mottled purple fabric, woven with blue and pink threads, offers a pleasant change from classic pyjamas and sees you through from the moment you wake up to relaxing on the sofa with far more style than a run-of-the-mill nightwear set.

To look after your garment, wash it separately on its first wash at 40°. Air dry where possible and avoid the tumble dryer. Do not use bleach to preserve the colours. Ironing at a medium heat is recommended. The fabric is designed to resist shrinkage, ensuring your garment will last a long time.
