Japanese tenugui towel with plum blossom print

The plum tree is the first tree to bloom at the end of winter, and its flowers symbolize renewal, perseverance and inner strength. On this Japanese tenugui, the print honors the plum blossom under some snowflakes. With its delicate colors, this fine cotton napkin can be used as a wall decoration or as an elegant table napkin. "Umemi" means "to contemplate the plum blossoms".

For hanging, consider a wooden tenugui stand.

Note: tenugui is a strip of fine cotton fabric, usually measuring 34 by 90 cm. It has no folds or hems, so it dries quickly. If the edges of your tenugui start to fray, trim any protruding threads with a pair of scissors.
