Japanese tenugui cotton towel with moon and rabbits print

In Japanese tradition, the rabbit symbolizes the full moon. The tale of "Tsuki no Usagi" depicts a rabbit residing on the moon, brewing an elixir potion. This tenugui print encourages reflection upon the full moon, aligning with the Japanese custom of Tsukimi. Originally a simple cotton cloth, the tenugui has transformed over time into a versatile item, serving as a tea towel, napkin, or even wall adornment, blending practicality with aesthetics.

For hanging, consider a wooden tenugui stand.

Note: tenugui is a strip of fine cotton fabric, usually measuring 34 by 90 cm. It has no folds or hems, so it dries quickly. If the edges of your tenugui start to fray, trim any protruding threads with a pair of scissors.
