These two tea caddies feature gold backgrounds crossed by a wide coloured band – green on one, red on the other – with a design of plum blossoms and chrysanthemums running from the lid to the base. This decorative style is reminiscent of festive kimonos, where gold serves as a backdrop to the flowers.
Each tin contains a soft plastic inner lid which is placed inside first to protect the leaves, followed by the domed metal lid which seals the tin completely, ensuring the loose tea is 100 per cent preserved. Sold together in a small, elegant cardboard box, they make an ideal gift, especially as you can keep one and give the other away.
