In Japan, the checked pattern has a name – kōshi – and enjoyed its heyday during the Edo period. At that time, laws prohibited flashy attire, and city-dwellers found in these understated patterns a discreet elegance that no one could take issue with. These trousers feature a very fine pattern, woven with light-coloured threads against a deep blue background, in a cut designed to allow you to move comfortably and freely. The waist is adjustable with a drawstring, the ankles are tapered to prevent snagging on the ground, and the two side pockets make them even more practical. You’ll love wearing them at home, in the garden or on short trips, combining the comfort of loungewear with a far more polished look.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
To look after your garment, wash it separately for the first wash at 40°. Use a washing bag for the spin cycle. Air dry where possible and avoid the tumble dryer. Do not use bleach to preserve the colours. Ironing is recommended at a medium heat. The fabric is designed to resist shrinkage, ensuring your garment lasts a long time.
