The hanten is a quilted jacket that the Japanese slip on at home as soon as it starts to get chilly indoors. Its padding traps body heat, and its two deep pockets provide warmth for your hands on the coldest evenings. The black collar frames the neckline, whilst the checked fabric – a pattern the Japanese call kōshi – adds a graphic touch without ever being over the top. You tie the fastening strap over a jumper or T-shirt, and the wide sleeves allow plenty of room to move freely despite the layers of fabric. It’s the sort of jacket that keeps you cosy on freezing evenings, combining style with practicality.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
To look after your garment, wash it separately on its first wash at 40°. Use a laundry bag for the spin cycle. Air dry where possible and avoid the tumble dryer. Do not use bleach to preserve the colours. Ironing is recommended using a damp cloth on a medium heat setting. The fabric is designed to resist shrinkage, ensuring your garment has a long life.
