The hanten is a quilted jacket traditionally worn by the Japanese at home when it gets chilly indoors. Its padding retains body heat, whilst the wide sleeves allow room for a warm garment to be worn underneath. The grey-black colour of this style, accented with fine vertical stripes (a pattern the Japanese call ‘tatejima’), gives it an understated, classy look, which is further enhanced by the darker collar. Inside, an unexpected bright blue warms the eye just as much as the garment warms your shoulders. Tie the drawstring, slip your hands into the pockets, and there you are, all warm – you won’t want to take it off for the rest of the evening.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
To look after your garment, wash it separately on its first wash at 40°. Use a laundry bag when spinning. Air-dry where possible and avoid the tumble dryer. Do not use bleach to preserve the colours. Ironing is recommended using a damp cloth on a medium heat setting. The fabric is designed to resist shrinkage, ensuring your garment has a long life.
