🔴 Shipping starts from
Japanese fūrin wind chime in green cast iron, in the shape of a Tsurigane temple bell
The fūrin is derived from the fūtaku, a bronze bell that was hung from temple eaves to ward off misfortune. This Japanese cast iron wind chime takes its shape from that of temple bells. It is cast in Ōshū, in Iwate Prefecture, where iron has been smelted since the 11th century, and the cast iron produces a sound that continues to resonate long after the wind has passed. Hanging from a window handle, a branch or beneath a canopy, it comes to life at the slightest breath of air.
