Japanese Towel - Recycled Cotton Panda
🔴 Shipping starts from
Japanese towel featuring a panda and pink hearts, with recycled cotton on the reverse and a double weave of gauze and terry cloth
At the manufacturer Hamamonyo, the offcuts from tenugui production don’t end up in the bin: they’re sent to Kurabo, a Japanese yarn manufacturer, which unravels them to create recycled cotton yarn. This yarn forms the reverse side of this Japanese hand towel, which explains the slight variations in colour from one piece to another: this is a hallmark of the process, not a fault. This is significant: in a textile workshop, 10 to 20 per cent of the fabric can end up as offcuts during cutting.
On the front is an adorable panda against a pink background with hearts, and as always, the two-layer design – made from gauze and terry cloth – on a 25 x 25 cm square. A hand towel for those who love pandas as much as they care about the environment and want to consume more responsibly.
