Taiyaki is one of Japan's most popular street sweets. This small fish-shaped cake (a sea bream, a symbol of good fortune) has been eaten for over a century in shopping streets and at fairs. This version features a soft rice-flour pastry, softer and more melt-in-the-mouth than traditional pastry, filled with a smooth, creamy filling.
