Radar SEED Japanese eraser with a case made from Japanese cherry wood
Cherry wood holds a special place in Japanese craftsmanship: it is from this wood, with its fine, even grain, that engravers carved the blocks for woodblock prints, as it can withstand the finest details and hundreds of prints without swelling, cracking or warping. SEED has used it here to craft the case for the Radar, its eraser launched in 1968 which has become a classic in Japanese pencil cases. As each case is cut from Japanese cherry wood, the grain is unique and varies from one piece to the next. When you use it, you’ll experience the soft feel and classic performance of the Radar.
