In Hokusai’s famous woodblock print, Mount Fuji is merely a small snow-capped peak, almost overshadowed by the roaring wave in the foreground. This paper model reverses the roles: here, the Kanagawa wave envelops the mountain itself, which takes on greater volume as the model is assembled.
The pieces are laser-cut and pre-folded in Japan, and the double-sided adhesive tape provided is already cut to match the width of the tabs. Placed on a shelf or desk, it also makes an original gift for a lover of Japanese art.
