Monaka is one of the most refined wagashi in traditional Japanese confectionery. It consists of two light and crispy rice wafers filled with a generous sweet filling.
This version combines two exceptional ingredients: matcha from Nishio, famous for producing some of Japan’s finest green tea, and sweet red azuki bean paste made from Hokkaido-grown beans. The result is a classic balance between the gentle bitterness of matcha and the rich sweetness of azuki. Enjoyed with green tea, it offers a taste of the traditional Japanese tea house experience.
