Beige Japanese Kinchaku Bag in Handwoven Linen with Hōsōge Dahlia Pattern
The hōsōge pattern, with its full, rounded petals, is a traditional Japanese motif depicting an imaginary flower inspired by the lotus and the peony, often compared to a dahlia. It first appeared in China before being adopted in Japan as early as the Nara period. This flower evokes the beauty of Buddhist paradise gardens and covers one half of the bag here, in shades of gray and gold on a natural linen background. The other half reveals a raw, unevenly woven fiber, for a lovely contrast in textures. Drawstring closure, soft handles, and a bucket-shaped base: this kinchaku bag suits a casual outing just as well as a dressed-up look.
