This large Japanese furoshiki bag, the Azuma Bukuro, is made from nikoshi chirimen, a Japanese fabric recognisable by its subtle texture known as ‘shibo’. Dyed in Kyoto, its pattern pays homage to the camellia, or tsubaki, a flower native to Japan that dares to bloom in the depths of winter. It can be carried over the shoulder by tying its two ends together or by adding a leather handle for added comfort.

In terms of capacity, this Japanese tote bag is large and sturdy enough to hold six 2-litre bottles. Once emptied, it folds away neatly into a rucksack until your next outing.
