Japanese curry is known for its rounded, slightly sweet base, and this hot version is no exception: the heat adds an extra kick without overpowering the other flavours. Chilli grown in Kyoto provides a sharp, lingering heat, whilst the curry powder is roasted over an open flame to develop distinctive toasted notes. This is the karakuchi level – the hottest on the classic Japanese scale – ideal for those who like their curry with a serious kick.

Ingredients: Wheat flour (produced in Japan), edible palm oil, sugar, curry powder, salt, hydrogenated vegetable oil, tomato powder, yeast extract, starch, onion, chilli. Colouring: caramel.
Allergens: wheat (gluten), celery.
Storage: store in a cool, dry place.
To make a complete curry dish, the manufacturer recommends adding, to taste: 2 onions, 1 carrot, 1 potato, 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil and 660 ml of water, and serving over white rice.
