Japanese Cast Iron Teapot Arare Pattern 300 ml
🔴 Shipping starts from
Black textured Japanese cast iron teapot with Arare ‘hail’ pattern and removable stainless steel strainer – 300 ml
The small raised dots covering the body and lid are called ‘arare’, meaning ‘hail’ in Japanese: this is the iconic motif of the Nambu foundries in northern Japan, where cast iron has been produced since the 17th century. Cast iron retains heat and releases it slowly, and the 300 ml capacity of this cast-iron teapot is enough to fill two cups, the second of which will still be warm. The removable stainless-steel strainer can be taken out as soon as the tea is to your liking, preventing the green tea leaves from lingering in the water and becoming bitter.
