Gachapon Toy - Jizo Statue

Gachapon Figurine: Jizo from the Tale of Kasa Jizo – Random Figurine

Jizo are those little stone statues found all over Japan, by the side of roads and on mountain paths. There is a very well-known folktale about them, called Kasa Jizo. On New Year’s Eve, a poor old man is unable to sell his straw hats. On his way home, he comes across six statues covered in snow, places his unsold hats on them, and gives his own hat to the last one. When night falls, the six Jizo come to life to thank him. The collection comprises six models, just like the six statues in the tale, and is made of resin rather than plastic, making it feel and weigh much like stone.

This figurine is part of a gachapon collection: the model you receive will be chosen at random from those shown in the photos. It’s not possible to select a specific character – that’s precisely the charm of this iconic Japanese concept! Each figurine is a surprise… and they’re all adorable. Please note that no exchanges or refunds will be possible once the box has been opened.

Warning: not suitable for children under 15 years of age. Choking hazard – contains small parts. Collector’s item; this is not a toy.
