Tea cannot go out of date but it can be damaged, so some precautions must be taken to ensure good conservation of these leaves. It is necessary to store bulk tea in airtight and opaque tea boxes. Tea is sensitive to light, heat, humidity and strong odors. Exposing it to air and light could oxidize the leaves and thus diminish the aromas they contain. If exposed to moisture, the leaves may become moldy. Generally, green teas are best consumed within 12 months after plucking. For an excellent preservation of your tea, it is recommended to store it in metal tea tins, if possible with a double lid.
