The kanji 招 and 福 on the figurines form the word ‘shōfuku’, which means ‘to attract happiness’, whilst the ema reads ‘kaiun’, a wish for good fortune.

This origami project takes about an hour – just enough time to think about the wish you’ll entrust to your daruma. Hung near a desk or in a hallway, this wreath also makes an ideal gift of encouragement for an exam, a new job or the start of a new year.

KIT DETAILS

Illustrated guide with instructions in English

Dimensions of the finished wreath: 16 × 16 cm

Materials: cardboard backing, washi origami paper, cord

Time required: approximately 60 minutes

Equipment required (not supplied): scissors, paper glue, vinyl glue (white glue), craft knife, ruler, pencil, hole punch

Made in Japan

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0266/2403/2817/files/japanese-hanging-paper-craft-kit-daruma-912.jpg?v=1791480929
