In \u003cem\u003eTōhoku\u003c\/em\u003e, the region where this \u003cstrong\u003ekokeshi\u003c\/strong\u003e is made, it does not appear until the end of February, amidst the lingering snow. Look at its body: the red bands painted around it are interrupted to leave a section of bare wood, where the craftsman paints the branch freehand.
